: : : : OK - so just because I am the other side of the pond, doesn't mean I don't know what day it is!!! As some of you are probably preparing to settle down in front of the tv to watch your chaps run around with their odd shaped balls ...

: : : Of course, I, as a dyed in the wool sports fan, knew what you were talking about! What else IS there at this time of year??

: : : So, my favorite football team is ... The Dallas Cowboys!!! (I can hear the boos & hissing, loud & clear!) Been a fan of theirs since 1966, yes, even through the 1-15 season ... when their ONLY victory was against (YIPPIE!) their hated rivals, the Washington Redskins! (LOTM connection???)

: : Hey Rich - -

: : Glad to see there's another Dallas Cowboy fan in the group. And here's war story for you - I don't remember what year it was now - something way back there in the dark ages when the Cowboys played Denver in the Superbowl. Anyway, I had been out in Boulder on a concert trip and was trying to get back to Chicago about the time a big winter storm was developing in the Midwest. Delays left me waiting in the Denver airport SURROUNDED BY ORANGE CRUSH. Everybody was dressed in orange, the world was Broncoland, and I didn't dare engage in conversation with anybody because all anybody could talk about was bashing Dallas. After going around for three hours with a bag over my head, my flight finally got out. It was an horrendous trip home, and our plane was the last one to skid onto the O'Hare runway before they shut down the airport for three days. My father (who can drive in anything - I mean ANYTHING), was waiting at the airport, and it took us two hours to get the 60 miles back northwest to home, where I had the grand satisfaction of watching the Cowboys beat the cleats off the Broncos. Can't think when I've had a hairier Superbowl Sunday. Haven't been back to Denver since!

: Hey! I`m here you know. A Dallas Cowboy fan. But you see, my Houston Oilers had to move and change their name before they could make it to the Super Bowl. I still think they will choke.

: Clabert

I will never think of the Houston Oilers as anything but the Houston Oilers. Every team has its up and down years, and somehow I don't have faith that moving to a new city and changing the name overrides the cycle. I'm diehard enough to believe that if the Oilers had remained the Houston Oilers, they would have made it around to the Big Time again like everybody else. After all, look at all the years the Green Bay Packers languished as a joke. Now let's see, how do we do Six Degrees to LOTM? Oh, yes - the New England Patriots are another team with their ups and downs ;0)
