Tomorrow, little Ariel will be having her long awaited surgery.
It would be nice to drop in at Ariel's Place & leave a message for Ariel in the guest book.
Please keep her & her family in your prayers.

Respected Elder passes away
By: Greg Horn
Local Elder Mike Phillips passed away at 7 a.m. this past Wednesday,
September 15, at the age of 69, in the ICU of the Jewish General Hospital.
He is currently being laid out at the Golden Age Club of Kahnawake and the
funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the 207 Longhouse.
Mike Phillips has four children, Jeffrey, Jimmy (Bin), Carlene and Therry
as well as seven grandchildren. He also has two brothers, Bruce and Stuart
and one sister, Marilyn.
His companion for the last 20 years has been Carlene Skye. He considered
her children and grandchildren as his own.
Phillips had led a full life, being an ironworker until 1979. Once he
retired from ironwork he became an alcohol and drug counselor until 1990.
His children remember him saying that it felt like he had his hands on
every building and bridge in New York.
It was in 1990 that Phillips became an actor and appeared in The Last of
the Mohicans which starred Daniel Day-Lewis. He also appeared in many other
movies and has become quite popular in Quebec.
Phillips was also depicted on the Two Row Wampum Belt poster that came out
several years ago.
His children sometimes joked that he had 1000 grandchildren, because he
loved all the neighbourhood children and they all loved him. He will be
missed by many people, both family and friends.
While he was in the hospital so many people had called the ICU of the
Jewish General that the hospital had to call K103 to give updates on his
condition. The family would like to thank all those people who called in
concerned about his health. They would also like to thank the staff at the
Jewish General Hospital for all their help.
