Hey, Joe! Not to worry...what works in the way of "art" for one doesn't necessarily do it for another. And that's the way it should be. Far be it from me to want to hear someone else giving voice to my exact thoughts ALL the time...what point would there be in that? I have enjoyed the heck out of this conversation, and agreed with some of the points made by everyone commenting & disagreed with others. It has been an eye opener, too, as Night Sky pointed out, in reminding us how differently we all see things, even though we may agree on the film we are NORMALLY discussing on these pages.

And the most important thing to remember, I think, about movies and pretty much any other form of art, is that there is no "right" or "wrong" opinion. It's all subjective, and we all bring a bit of ourselves along when we study the art of film, photography, music, painting, sculpture...whatever. Our own life experiences will play a big part in what we enjoy, as well.

Thanks, Brent, for opening up a film discussion. For my own part, I am an ardent movie fan, and enjoy discussing film the way most of the posters here enjoy discussing history. I can never get enough! And I don't mind a whit that there are so many different "takes" on each film mentioned. Joe, you and I agree on the comparison of SPR & TTRL, and Night Sky & Brent seem pretty close in their opinions of the same. But the "pairing" might be just the opposite on any number of other films.

Hey...we may not know Art, but we sure know what we LIKE, don't we??
