'Tis better to trust a scout who's travelled
the forest paths many times and in all weather
than the young who think it's a race and pay
with their haste with those parts a man hold dear.
That particlar ground is bloody and littered with the
bones and mortal souveniers of those who didn't
take the journey nor the words of their scouts
serious enough. Your own regiment bore the brunt,
did it not?
As long as it stood that fort was a hornet's nest.
The French and their allies collected there to fall upon the
settlements. Some even came from the far west,
such as the Naked Indians who some call, in
error, the Miami.
But mayhap ye don't like to think again of such.
