: : Good evening, fellow Mohicanland Citizens,

: : Well, another evening coming to a close, and I'm sitting, humming and sewing and getting on with another quilt, as is Miss Katie's want, dontcha know. Rather than wrap round the bod of some 'cauld cratur' in Mohicanland (breech clout and leggings are TEEEEERIFIC to look at, but they don't keep ya' warm at night!), THIS 'wall hanging size, a la Eric', quilt is to be available for purchase at Ariel's Cabin, come the time o' the Great Gathering!

: : As my sewing needle whips in and out of the red and black material, it brings to mind the many articles of merchandise that has already been pledged by the generous citizens of Mohicanland, that will also be available at Ariel's Cabin. Howsever, MANY MORE articles would ensure an EVEN MORE SUCCESSFUL venture in aiding that special child that Mohicanland has adopted! Yes, it would! Now, we don't want anyone from the 'Upper Canada's' thinking we colonists of the 'Albany' area don't know how to assist those in need!!

:
: My dear Miss Katie,
: As I read about your new quilt project, I did occur to me that you might raise more coin of the realm by auctioning it off than by selling it outright. Is it a match to the one you gave Eric? If so, I think it would be mighty valuable to a bunch of people! Just a thought for you to consider.
: Chris

Howdy Miss Chris,

It is indeed a nice night for setting on the porch, watching that awful ruckus across the street! Seems all manner o' folk trying to break into Miss Marcia's house! I've half a mind to go on over and investigate. Howsever, I got work to be doing, like this here quilt.

Land sakes, no, Miss, I have to admit that this quilt inn't a match to Mr. Schweig's. His was a King size and a bit. This one is approx. 1/6 - 1/8 the size! Just a wall hanging, 40in x 40in. I did consider doin' a big one, but it would have proven too expensive to do without a definite buyer.

Unfortunately, Miss Katie's quilts are not cheap, nasty things that you can buy from any Trading Post, you know! I can assure you my quilts are of the highest standard and quality! After all, I am a bedding professional. Bedding is my business!! Indeed, bedding is what I do best! You cant beat the comfort and cosiness found under Miss Katies coverings!! :0)

Seriously, Chris, had it been a 'real' quilt, rather than a wall hanging, I agree that that probably would have been the better option. However, I also had to consider that there are already 2 or so Raffles being held at the Gathering already, so...

And, of course, though I have had many GREAT pledges of merchandise for Ariel's Cabin, the more merchandise I have to sell, the more we make for Ariel's fund. So - I thought two or three small quilts would help swell the number of items for sale (and at least LOOK like we had loads to sell! :0)

Thanks for taking an interest in the 'Ariel's Cabin' preceedings though, Chris! And I look forward to getting YOUR donation! :0)

Take care,
Kate.
