Here I am, once again, reading ALOUD over MMMM's shoulder, and believe, all my buzzing is driving her CRAZY!
It seems that MMMM has received another couple of reservations this week, and now ALL of the Creekside Cabins are full, except one double sleeper sofa in the 2nd Family Cabin. That's IT! So, folks, if any of you are still hoping to stay at the Creekside Cabins (where all the action is, I might add!) DO contact MMMM quickly, as that sofabed is your last chance.
Now, if you want to camp in one of the tent sites, or share a Campin' Cabin' with a couple of other folks, there are still some spots available. Plenty of tent sites, and at least a couple more places in the rustic campin' cabins. HURRY, HURRY, HURRY! The money MUST go in to Bear Den Campgrounds next week.
Those who have not yet paid for the Day In Chimney Rock need to be thinking about when they can send their checks, as well. MMMM says she can wait a bit longer for that part, but not too much more...another 3 weeks or so, perhaps. So, be looking around for those extra dollars. We don't want to climb that cliff trail, eat those tasty CRP meals, and get our new collectible souvenirs WITHOUT you!
Buzzzzzzzzzzz...hmmmmmmm...MMMM says the Raffles this year are going to be OUTSTANDING!! In the general raffle, we have photos, magazines, books, stationery, film site memorabilia (to be announced shortly), hand painted, wooden treasure boxes decorated with Celtic designs, a hand-tooled leather belt pouch with a Celtic knot pattern, and much, much more! REMEMBER, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE PRESENT TO WIN. If you are attending the Gathering, you may purchase raffle tickets there. If you are NOT attending the Gathering, you may purchase raffle tickets NOW by sending MMMM a check or money order for $1 for each ticket you wish her to enter in your name. It would certainly ease the "pain" of those who cannot go this year to win one of these great prizes.
And, *fanfare, please,* we will be having another raffle, the details of which MMMM hasn't yet worked out, for a custom-made woman's costume, much like Cora's famous striped skirt ensemble. Ann Colby, who will be attending this year for the first time, has generously offered her dressmaking skills to create this special outfit for one lucky female winner. She is also donating a custom-made man's shirt, much like the cloth shirt Hawkeye wears in some of the movie's scenes, for one lucky male winner. You guys and gals who are really into the costuming and living history things are gonna LOVE these things. Ann, please take a few minutes to introduce yourself tomorrow, and let folks know a bit more about your fantastic donations!
OK, that's it! In summary: sign up for the last two spots at the Creekside Cabins right away, if interested. Send MMMM your raffle ticket money for the General Raffle as soon as possible, if you are NOT coming to the Gathering. (If you ARE coming to the Gathering, please buy your tickets there, so she doesn't have to fill out hundreds, and hundreds of them!) ;o) And finally, send her your Chimney Rock money in the near future, puh-leeeeze, as she needs to make some arrangements with them soon.
Thanks, and email MMMM if you have any questions at all. For those who haven't noticed, or that she hasn't written to, her new email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Buzzzzz...June is gettin' closer every day!
