Seamus,
I felt compelled to write you to thank you for your repair to my powder horn and to tell you the suggestion to further help it also worked. Also I am effecting repair on my provincial musket as you had suggested. You seem to have a great deal of talent for one person. Praise be!
It was good to see you at our meeting at Col. Weiser's home. I'm sorry that the Col. didn't feel well but Major Ritchie did a good job with the meeting.Your lass, Nancy is a very charming lady. You would be smart to latch on to her. I can see she has a sparkle in her eye for you.
I will take your kind invitation to heart and will see if the Battalion will be in the area to take your hospitable offer up.
We have been told that a detachment of our troops will be sent from time to time to Ft. Augusta, I will try to accompany them when I can.
I trust you had a safe trip home and that your traveling partners had the same safe trip.
I have heard from Malcolm that your father may have been sighted in Carlisle! Praise be! I trust that it is your father and a grand reunion can be had by all.
I must go now as my services are needed on an overnight patrol to Fort Sweetara. I will report to Lt. Marsloff there and stay the night before we venture home.
Macht Gut!
From Ft. Henry
Sgt. Toot
