: Dana,

: OK.....I popped the tape in on the way to my school, the song is sung by Nancy Griffith on one of the Chieftans' tapes. I believe the word is POINT....makes sense, but could have been a better Gaelic word to use in that spot!! Let's see what Uncle Davey Gunn says!!

: Dr. Uncle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I thought it was MOORS as in "broad open land with patches of heath and peat bogs"
The next verse complete with mis-spellings goes,
Twas down by Kelarny, green woods that we strayed
The moon and the stars, they were shinning.
And the moon shown it rays on her locks of golden hair,
And she swore she`ld be my love, forever.
