: Dear Sgt. Toot,
:       I regret to inform you of information I have received about your friend Seamus. While scouting between Hunter's Fort and Fort Halifax I came upon a lone duck hunter, Dway Miller by name who had recently been at Shamokin Flats. He told me your friend had been captured by some Shawanese and a frenchman by the name of M. du Ranck, a few days ago. Also friend Timothy was unharmed but ranger Elden Kuhns was killed. It seems that this du Ranck was posing as a friend until time to take Seamus captive and the ranger dead. I have heard that they are taking him to a place called Chinklacamoose. 
:      Also dear sergeant, the lass Nancy is in mortal fear for Seamus's
: life and is very upset as you can imagine. I leave in the morning to travel to Augusta with supplies  and when they are delivered I will see if I can aid young Timothy, who is pursueing them. I am very sorry to have to break this news to you. I hope all will be well soon on this horrible frontier.
