As you begin to participate more you will make new friends like we all have. Some of us talk on the phone from time to time and still some of us even plan our vacations together. Some of the LOTM subjects can be talked into the ground but we still talk about them for the benefit of any "new" lurkers we may have. And we don`t stop there. Some have taken on certain personas. Some of which have nothing to do with LOTM. You will see "them" come out when things bog down. The side stories and antics of the Gnome, MMMMarcia, Doc Mary, Sherrif Twig, French Trader, English Trader and many more just tend to keep the board alive. We are all very good friends and please don`t take anything we say to each other to seriously. Some of us even plan our stories by phone from as far away as Australia. It would be a plum shame to not have this place to play.
I don`t know of anything that`s going on behind the messege board but as time for Gathering gets closer, things will livin up and probably go wild afterwards. I for one have been very busy making the things I`ll need in the Trading Post come June.

: I have not been a part of Mohicanland since its beginnings, only having been introduced to it in the past several months. I have not enjoyed anything like I have enjoyed this in ages. I do, however, wonder at times about some of the characters and their strange postings, and have decided that maybe since I am so new, I just don't get it. I thought Postings was to be dedicated to 18th century stuff, but I am confused greatly about it...so I go on, trying to figure it out, keeping an open mind.
:
: I am a fan of LOTM, have the tape, and watch it frequently. I was invited to participate in the filming, but was unable to commit the time necessary. I sit and watch it now looking for friends who were there! I have been a reenactor for a long time, I might add, and am currently involved in doing a couple of Living History interpretive impressions in F&I and Rev War...militia, Provincial Ranger, and Provincial Regimental Military. I have done French, British, and Colonial American personnae. I do not "idolize" the actors who did LOTM, but I thought they did tremendous work. Granted, there was some serious artistic license taken, but then, "That's Show Biz!" I loveJ.F. Cooper's writings and have loved them since I was a kid. Well...'nuff of that.
:
: I can understand the situation you are in. I have been in "burnouts" myself. I think it would be a tragedy to lose Mohicanland. While I don't know anything about the nasty stuff that goes, or went, on in the Postings, I can understand that such crap will occur. It is human nature for some people to attempt to corrupt or ruin good things, whether it is motivated by petty jealousies, greed, or just plain meanness.....whatever. I have no answer as to how to combat that, particularly in the relative anonymity of this medium. Yogi Berra said, "When you are popular you are bound to be hated."
:
: I offer all the encouragement and support I have to you and those who are Mohicanland, and pledge to you my help in any way I can be of service. I hope you can sort all this out and keep Mohicanland afloat. It has a place, an important place, for a lot of us out here, and all over the world, I noticed. I go there every morning first thing...and visit several times a day.
:
: I hope all of this makes sense to you...
:
: Keep up the good...no...great...work!
