Cecelia and I recently had the good fortune to travel to California (I on business, CC on pleasure), San Francisco to be precise, and had the VERY good fortune to spend an afternoon with the Sweetsers Four (in all their glory, I must add). We had a terrific time, as anyone who knows the Sweetsers - knows you couldn't escape having a terrific time. And they were the most generous girlies to take time out of their weekend to show us some of the sites. Why, I believe we had the most entertaining tour guides a city could ask for!
: It was also interesting to observe how alike our two states are. For instance, in NC if you don't like the weather, stick around fifteen minutes, it'll change! And in CA, if you don't like the scenery, drive for fifteen more minutes, it'll change. The things to see within 1 hour of San Francisco, are mind boggling. What beautiful country it is! Mind you, I'm still partial to my NC mountains. For one thing, we have guard rails on high mountain roads and they aren't a breath away from an ocean cliff. Now there's an experience for ya, riding down Hwy 1 in CA with Cecelia driving...my knuckles are STILL white and I just stopped holding my breath yesterday! So there ya go, the difference between the two states is that CA doesn't have guard rails, and we have bridges that ice before the roads
: We spent a good deal of time talking about the past gathering and even more making plans for the upcoming one (oooohhhhh, it gives me goose bumples just to think about it). We (me Gadget Girl and Cecelia , Gear Gal) did provide the Sweetsers with a private showing of the Misty Mate (alias USDP, HHH...see post below re: gathering gear) and had to perform all manners of diversions to procure return of said gadget after trial runs (performed in tiny hotel room). And all gathering attendees should be warned...the word for the day was *libations*, and I wouldn't be caught *libating* by a Sweetser for nuthin'. Fair warning has been given!

We had an absolutely surburb time on Sunday; glad we could show you two around. It was a great day; another mini-gathering. The weather treated our visitors kindly; it was up in the 80's. Shirt sleeves and shorts in SF in not something to be ignored!
Guard rails???? Hey, we grew up driving those roads! Keeps one on their toes; or at least awake. Loved the Gadget Thing. Stick close to Diana going up Chimney Rock.....
