Fox Searchlight, in conjunction with Tomboy Pictures, Gruber Brothers
Productions, Fiberia Pictures and Fiolam Eireann/The Irish Film Board, is in the preproduction for the major motion picture "Bade the Wild Geese Go", an epic film centered on the exploits of Rory O'Neil, Irish-American Patriot. Set in the mid to late 18th Century (1760-1780) the film follows the life of O'Neil, an Irish rebel who after capture by the crown is transported to the American Colonies and
forced into service of the army. After murdering a superior officer,
O'Neil deserts and hides among the Lenape Indians, and at the beginning of then American Revolution convinces a band of the Lenape to side with him against the British.

Skeet Ulrich, most recently seen in "Ride With the Devil" has been cast as the lead. Other leading cast members include Wes Studi, Eric Schweig, and Richard Harris as Rory's father.

Kirk Jones is the writer/director (Waking Ned Devine)

Filming has commenced in Donegal and should be completed by the end of the summer.

The American scenes will be filmed in a location yet to be determined,
beginning in October and finishing in May of 2001. Tentative locations as of this time are set for Upstate New York, and North Carolina.
