The forts of Penn's Woods have sheltered the folk,
From Forts Loudoun to Morris to Frederick.
The forts of Penn's Woods have protected the folk,
As they traveled on through at the quick.

Our lads and our lasses have had many an adventure,
From Forts Hunter and on to Carlisle.
Our lads and our lasses have been on an adventure,
And traveled for many a mile.

Twa months have passed as the lads have fought,
From Forts Freeland to Bosley to Henry.
Twa months have passed and the battles were fought,
To make all the frontier free.

So, the first of the Chronicles will end soon enough,
The trials of the Cousins so dear.
And the first of the Chronicles we'll not soon forget.
On to Frederick! Then on to Ligonier!
