Cpl. Malcolm MacWilliam,
Please tell my dear wife that I have arrived at Carlisle and will be joining her in a week.

I spoke to Captain Croy when I arrived today and was instructed by him to send Sgt MacDougall and a section on there way to join you. You will have the pack horses and wagons ready to leave when he arives. With your two sections and the Sgt.'s section you will proceed to loudoun with haste. I will be leaving Carlisle tomorrow with two more sections. I will join you at loudun. The Capt will leave Carlisle with the rest of the company as soon as the Col. allows. He says that it should be no later than tuesday next.
Have received news that Col. Montgomeri and the rest of the Regt. will be leaving the carlonias in a fortnight. They should be in this colony in six to eight weeks.
The Capt has stated that Sgt. MacDougal and two section will stay at louddon while you and I take three section with the supplies and camp followers to fort Frederick. He said to take the women in case there was nurseing needed at the fort.
Take care Cpl and I will see you in a week.
