This is where part of my family comes in. Some of them were Puritans of the Mass. Bay Colony (Dad's side). One of them became Quaker and was publicly beaten several times until he finally left. Another had to leave because he gave shelter to a Quaker family. He and his family settled on Nantucket(my Mom's side). Later most became Quaker, eventually left to settle in N.C., married a woman who was part Cherokee, came up the Wilderness Trail, went up to Indiana, married up with with the Germans who had arrived in PA in 1757 and migrated with so many including the Boones, to western N.C. (became TN), and went up to IN, married a Cherokee woman, and eventually married that side with the 2 captives (Dad's side)living in Butler County, OH, after also marrying in there a Catholic whose family came from Maryland. We like to say my Dad's ancestors kicked my Mother's ancestors out of Boston. The Quaker's kept great records. Wish the other folks had.
