250 years ago April 13 Dr. Thomas Walker passed through the Cumberland Gap (1750). His was the first official record of a white person to do this. There were others but they did not record the fact or make it known to the record books. If I remember correctly, he and Boone were at Braddock's Defeat, where they met and he related to Boone about the Gap. Boone eventually settled in N.C. went through the Gap and followed the Warrior's Path into KY.
