Isn't it rather odd that there does not seem to be an "Native American" side to this drama. Isn't it a given that America had to be settled an order for it to became the great nation it is today?
The native Americans were non-compliant and, therefore, had to be subdued and vanquished. It simply did not make good policy nor sense to have bands of armed men and women running around with weapons.

The above certainly makes sense but was it moral? Could not the same objectives been accomplished via a different set of rules? Not by the time of the historical reality that brought about the Battle of the little Big Horn;it was then to late.

Too many years have passed wherein these people were handled roughly and as second hand citizens. By the time we are dealing with here,the "habit" of disrespect and animosity by whites toward the Indian was to ingrained to change.

Mores the pity for such a sad commentary!
