My GGGrandfather was with Company D, 34th NC Infr. under Col. Lowarance of Scales Brigade, Pender's Div., A.P. Hill's Corps ANV. I have done some studying on the position of the 34th during the charge. It appears that they did reach the wall at the angle with Trimble. Every Officer was shot down and several men were captured as they went over the wall. My ancestor's records show he was taken prisoner 7/3/63 with minie ball injury to hand.

The reason i want to know is we are doing a grave site dedication for him in Centerville, Arkansas this summer and i want to make darn sure i have it right. It has been very nerve racking trying to verify all the information out there on this charge and the men that were part of it.

Can anyone support this data or give me some in-site on the possition of the 34th and what really happened. i would also like to know of any brigade histories out there or items that may help me verify this data.

Any help would be most appreciated!!
