My favorite part of the movie is the opening credits: The dramatic music is running and pictures of the major participants are shown , along with the actors who play them in the movie.

I love the movie, but find some of the speeches a bit excruciating.

I had my first visit to Gettysburg this year in January. I was in Philly for a business trip, and had a few spare hours one day. So I drove the 2 hours each way, but could only stay at Gettysburg for 2-3 hours. (I guess I am somewhat of a die-hard) . I had to skip the organized programs, but still had a hard time pulling myself out of the museum at the Visitors Center. Outside it was deserted and snowing. I still had a great time, driving around the battle field. Of course I did not have enough time, and will repeat next time I go to PA or MD.
