His name was Benjamin Doss. I don't think our family was related to Gen. Pickett. (However we are related to Jesse and Frank James, and the Dalton brothers, who were first cousins. Their mothers were sisters. My great-grandmother was a Dalton.) A newly-found cousin gave me copies of photos of three of my Gettysburg great-uncles. It's fascinating to look into the eyes of these handsome young men! Benjamin Doss so closely resembles my late father; they look like brothers!
