The most interesting thing about the archeological finds is the small number of army cartridge cases found. It shows that the end came fast, after some rather desultory firing.
Even accounting for cases being moved, and or removed, there are not that many. Since they 'are' found, over much of the area, they were not all picked up. Since they are found in groups, but not in piles, rather distributed in small areas, they do not appear to have been placed except in use.
It is possible that many have been picked up over the years, but why only concentrate on the army and not Indian cases?
