Joe,

Not being argumentative at all (I have enjoyed your viewpoints
and knowlegeable posts) but anybody who has run through the
woods knows just how noisily things get what with dry leaves and
twigs, rocks etc. It would take a superman to miss stomping on
such things when running at full tilt. When hunting I used to
PREFER when it was raining because it made for quieter stalking.

I do prefer to accept your scenario as explanation for the chase
and its realism. Good explanation. But as you said about things
hitting the cutting room floor....could not also they have dubbed OUT the noisy running that occurred (too bad the missed dubbing out the guy in the baseball cap!!). That way we have the effect
of three men running through the woods as silent as ghosts. Like
we like to picture such men, unlike what we know when we ourselves are running full tilt through the woods.

: : You said ; In the opening scenes so much noise was being made it would sent all the game running for cover.
: Funny, when I first saw the film in surround sound, I was taken by how quiet they were, running full tilt through the woods like that. It just goes to show how differently people perceive the same thing.
