Braintanned Buckskin

Braintanning buckskin is the most authentic way to tan a hide, also the most work intensive, that's why it's so expensive. You actually use the brain matter of the animal in the process. I know it sounds quite yukky but it makes the softest most comfortable clothes.
Native Americans used every part of the animal for something, nothing was wasted
An old saying I've heard for years is, "Every animal has just enough brains to save his hide, one way or another!" Now about my post, I know Hawkeye was wet when he was in Col. Munro's office, but his shirt and his hair looked quite dry when he stepped into the surgery to see Cora & Uncas just moments later. "Clear it up for you any?"
