: : : Good to see that "The Last of the Mohicans" is standing up well to the test of time! The above article, passed along by Bertha Boucher, came out recently as LOTM was being shown on TNT/TBS ... I suppose it's Canadian? Don't know for sure ...

: : : Finally made some time to hook up the DVD player to our video capture device, watch the movie, and take pictures ... What a treat! As we decided on what images to shoot & use on the Site (and, I should add, we shot a LOT more than we used, and probably SHOULD have captured a lot more ... just in case! Ah, EXCESS!) ... running stuff in slo-mo, frequently pausing, backing up, a little forward ... you know ... trying to get what we wanted (not always succeeding, either! :( ... ) ... one thing became apparent, Magua & Alice stole the show! Forget UNCAS & Alice, it's MAGUA & Alice ... THEY'RE the couple! And not just on the cliff scene ... THROUGHOUT! We found the two of them to be the most "photogenic" ... such expressions! Masterful work by both of them, Wes Studi & Jodhi May! I'm amazed that we learned something new, even after "studying" this film for so long! Anyhow, hope you all enjoy the captures we DID come up with.

: : : Will keep this short, as my tongue IS sore (thanks Victoria!) from biting hard on it ... next time I run into one General Custer, Bill, I WILL ask him! Is there still gold in them thar hills? As you may know, it was an 1874 expedition, led by Custer, that discovered gold in the Black Hills, that led to the taking of these scared grounds, that led to Little Bighorn in 1876.

: : : One last thing ... the deadline is Monday, July 31 at Noon EDT. Deadlines often extend, but don't take a chance ... if you care about making the River Walk area free for all to enjoy, do send your e-mails to NC Governor Hunt, et al TODAY!

: : : See you On The Trail ... maybe under Bridal Veil?

: : Rich..

: : THANK YOU! The pictures are unbelievable! I just wish I had a DVD player so that I could see the DVD version for myself.

: : ...Jeri

:
: Goo day Rich
: The DVD screen shots helped me see some details I had never seen before; not even when I had itsDVD on loan, because at the time I could not get its sound playing on my computer and after a while I gave up without watching the whole thing.
: I hope Santa will be good to me sometime, some day and I will buy a real DVD player.
: 'till then, please don't be shy, add more!

: Thanks
: Vita

Hey, Vita!

You didn't stop watching before you got to the lacrosse scene, I hope. WOW! You haven't really 'experienced' LOTM until you have watched this scene one frame at a time while nose to computer screen. Made me blush so deeply that my eyes watered. My, my, my... Of course, I stopped immediately.;) After all, my husband had spent the entire day trying to get the darn thing to play on the computer so that I could look at costume close-ups. It just wouldn't do to have me burning out the little clicker thingy after he had gone to so much trouble.

Well, I'm off to look for more "costume" close-ups. Busy, busy, busy...
