: : : : Ok chaps - here's a question for you.....especially those of you currently competing for the "I've seen LOTM the most times" award! At the beginning of the cabin scene, Alexandra comes onto the porch to welcome Chingachgook and Uncas and I could swear that she says "Uncas" as she shakes hands with Chingachgook. Of course, it could just be my very tired and thoroughly overworked video that is getting blurry - but perhaps one of you guys with better sound (on a new DVD perhaps?) can enlighten me!

: : : Easy, Adele! It took me a few viewings, too, to realize she is saying "Welcome!" Listen again closely, and it will be more clear!

: : : Anything else we can clear up a bit for ya? ;o)

: : : MMMM

: : : : Adele

:
: : I remember this subject coming up 18 months ago when I was knew to the board. I'm almost certain that then, the answer was "Uncle", because there was discussion on why Alexandria would call Ching "Uncle". I don't see her lips forming an "m" as you would in "welcome", so I'm not convinced it is "Welcome." Anyone else?

: : Ta,
: : Sarah M.

: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

: Oh, this is easy Sarah!

: In the dark, she mistook him for Uncle Wisgone (& boys!) ;0)

: Kate.

I'm with Marcia on this one. I remember having trouble at first with that line, too. But I finally decided she is saying "welcome". I always thought Alexandria enunciated some of her words in a rather unusual way. Don't know if that has anything to do with the misunderstanding of this line.
