: I was wondering how many people show up at the
: gathering and what else goes on at them. Will there be
: anything going on Thursday night before the gathering
: starts? Can you bring cameras and recorders?
: Talk to all of you later

I think Karen said it well. Having not been to a Gathering, her opinion would indicate the Gathering pages do what they are supposed to ... that is, reflect the feeling & spirit of a Mohican Gathering. Look those pages over ...

I can well imagine the anxiety a person might have attending one of these events. Even I, being somewhat at the center of them, feel that. But, it doesn't take long for everyone to feel comfortable. As Jo can readily attest to, there's not a whole lot of "down time." We're on the move & the three days pass by all too quickly. It's a lot of fun.

To answer your questions:

We expect about 60 people.
Caitlin told you about the cameras, etc ... there's a flood of them!
Thursday MIGHT see a little extra jaunt ... It is difficult because everyone is just coming in, from all over, at differnt times & exhausted from their trip.

So, what is a "Gathering"? It's a chance to make new friends with folks who share a common interest. You'll be "led" by a guy who has visited each & every site, and wrote the book about them ... ME ... and a guy who participated in the duration of the five & a half month long filming marathon, Eric Hurley (Soldier #2). You'll get all kinds of extra input from the rest of the cast of characters who attend (including a nifty props display). You'll hike to some gorgeous mountain scenery, see the film in a cozy & unique setting, on the big screen, and enjoy the company of some fine folks. This year, we'll be led on a period trek by a period re-enactor & have a specially designed program presented to us at Biltmore Estate ... among other things. Then, there's T-shirts, raffles, program guides, fires & fun ...

Try it, you'll like it!
