Patrice Chereau, who played Montcalm in the movie, has died at the young age of 68.

I still remember the long night I worked with Patrice Chereau shooting the Montcalm's Headquarters Tent scene; I didn't realize he was only a year or two older than I am!

3 gone, at least, Fitz ... Mike Phillips [Sachem], Russell Means [Chingachgook}, and now Patrice Chereau [Montcalm - played with a graceful flair]. Sad. |

I actually thought perhaps he was older. What I didn't know about him was the fact that he was so highly-respected in the field of opera and theater staging. |

I didn't realize he was that old. Now that's two gone.
(When I first saw this I thought it was Georges Savarin de Marestan, colateral ancestor of Montcalm who portrayed him during the 250th) |
