[/b] This is what was recently found and is said to be a claim by none other than Travis's slave Joe to Colonel Perry. But this account doesn't stack up with the other claims by Susanah Dickenson who said she saw his body and also of Joe who said he was surrounded by 24 of his friends and foe and at one point he said Crockett had the "biggest pile." This account is simply a tease as "the Lancer Account", which it's being called, doesn't match the known facts. And for a forty nine year old man to jump from a wall and into a crowd of Mexicans while not being shot seems pretty far-fetched to me.
