This is something that researchers like myself exposed in Obama’s first term, and Obama has never addressed this issue. 6. The Democratic Party has historically championed the rights of Blacks, Latinos, working women and gays. Yet, when we examine the gains made by all groups in the economic sector, which is reflective of polices promoting equality, it took a Republican to provide Blacks, Latinos and working women the lowest unemployment rate in recorded history.
