This is on YouTube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2jj3yrFZi0

Some comments from another board:

"The clip is now irreverently known in the UK as "Saving Private Bumpo"

"Here is a link to a video on YouTube that shows a recent F&I War reenactment that took place in Kent, England. The Iroquois Indians are actually Germans, the soundtrack is from the movie Gladiator... The video is a bit grainy but it has a quirky appeal. If it starts and stops a lot the first time through, let it load and watch it again - it will go a lot smoother. It is less than three minutes long. Watch for the big lorry (truck) driving past in the background around the 2:10 mark...."

"now the German guys are wonderful chaps, mainly Bavarian Lumberjacks, & they do their thing beautifully...but they're not used to reenactments for the public. On the first day of the event, they were told to take the British camp..I think some racial memory took over, because they went through our lines like a Panzer Division on speed...A 1/2 hour skirmish took 5 minutes...public loved it...talking to them later. It took some time to point out the "theatrical" element needed...and the fact we would like to get more than one shot off!...the clip shows the second day when they slowed it down to "Reeactment Time"."

Over running things like a Panzer Division probably brings back fond memories, - something not to be delayed whenever possible.

Speaking as someone with a great deal of Germanic blood, I can easily chalk it up to biological memory...

I think those Brits should have put up a sign just outside their camp, with the name of their "village": Stalingrad. Mighta slowed down that "Indian" blitzkrieg!
