“Cows emit a massive amount of methane through belching, with a lesser amount through flatulence,” according to How Stuff Works. “Statistics vary regarding how much methane the average dairy cow expels. Some experts say 100 liters to 200 liters a day… while others say it’s up to 500 liters… a day. In any case, that’s a lot of methane, an amount comparable to the pollution produced by a car in a day.”
“Of all domestic animal types, beef and dairy cattle were by far the largest emitters of [methane],” according to an EPA analysis charting greenhouse gas emissions in 2012. Cows and other animals produce methane through digestion, which ferments the food of animals.

Let me guess, - no stopping it, sooo a "tax on each cow" should make things alright. Leading of course to higher dairy prices. - Guess who ends up paying the new tax & it ain't the cow - try Joe6pak again, the perennial "bag holder".

If anyone out there in Mohicanland has been paying attention (outside of Sachem, MG & myself), there has been a 19% increase in bovine-related products this past year alone, thanks to government interference. Continued government interference and over-regulation will only aggravate this situation. This interference takes the form of federal policies concerning ethanol mandates, EPA groundwater regulations, and Federal Reserve 'Quantitative Easing', just to name a few. Additional governmental regulations concerning agriculture should not be tolerated. Now before some coffee-table intellectual thinks that they have a 'gotcha moment' with me, let me say that I am well aware that the Federal Reserve itself is not a federal agency, but who do you think appoints its director? The power of appointment dictates the power to set policy.
As I said here before, if you voted Democrat (or RINO-Republican), then you are part of the problem.

| We are in the process of regulating our selves into oblivion ... $8.00 gasoline is right ahead, like Europe (think/thank Obamacre) - fuel & everyday necessities regulated/taxed into being luxuries. - Passing laws no one has even read, ... The Federal Reserve is only "technically" an independent private bank - who (for some unknown reason) has said controlling unemployment is it's objective/responsibility - NO, IT ISN'T!!! They couldn't be any further off-base if they tried. - We start with "term-limits" for Congress - NO sending the same clowns back, to "fix what they screwed up" to begin with. - What was Einstein's definition of insanity??? .... "Doing the same thing over & over and expecting a different result". |
