Columbia, SC has just experienced their earliest snow in 125 years of weather records, beating the Nov. 9, 1913 earliest snow record by 8 days. Current South Carolina weather shows it’s still snowing in Greenville, SC.

The Christian Science Monitor is reporting Greenville was especially hard hit with downed trees and power outages. The Smokey Mtns received up to 16 inches overnight. The current U.S. snow cover map shows 18 states with some amount of snow this morning.

Probably some more "global warming" - we're due for some tomorrow ... LOL.

I was going to the battle at Camden yesterday and left home in Greenville at 6:00 AM. There was a little snow, but by the time I got to Gray Court the roads were getting slick and one car had hit the cables in the median. So I turned around and went back home. By the time I got home at 7:00 AM it had all stopped. No build-up and no damages. I think the mid sections of the state got more. As it turned out they cancelled the action at Camden for Saturday so I am very glad I didn't continue. Seems they they were afraid that the poor babies couldn't get their firelocks to function. Typical Camden BS and one reason why I haven't been there since 2005. And probably won't go there again.

Sounds like a good decision Fitz, nothing like driving in bad weather to a cancelled event. ... We never got the snow that was forecast (what's new?) but the wind here was impressive. - A number of trees down blocking roads etc. ... it's slowed down a tad now.
