275 years ago the townsfolk of Plantation Number 4 voted to create a fortified section of town.

Reenactors/Living Historians personifying British and French troops, rangers, militia, camp followers, Native Americans, and sutlers gather to recreate events surrounding New England's involvement in the war.

Included during this two day event are tactical battle reenactments, open hearth and campfire cooking, blacksmithing, textile production, and colonial trades.

The weekend's schedule is as follows:

Saturday
9:30 AM Friends of the Fort Members Early Admission to the Grounds
10 AM Fort opens for the day
11:30 AM Latin Prayers (On Common)

My unit will be there. The Pequawket Alliance. Without me, of course. They are French and Native.

If you do, look up Lynne White with the Pequawket Alliance. They will have a tent fly with their name on it. It's been a while since I have seen her in person, but she is the one who keeps up with all the correspondence for the unit.

Lynne is the lady in the dark maroon dress with the white collar directly behind the sign in the center of the pic.

Fitz - Met Lynne White earlier today at No. 4, VERY nice lady, enjoyed chatting with her. - I took a pic or two of her & the Alliance camp ... good group. - Unfortunately I don't know how to post them here. - Something new perhaps - they "flip a coin" to see who wins or loses now??? - Today the French were "inside" defending the Fort ...

Most sites, unless they are portraying a specific event, will alternate the win/lose scenarios each day. Even at Braddock's Defeat some years ago, there was a generic battle on the second day where 1) the British get to win, and 2) where everyone gets to dress like they want to, so the French Troupes de Terre and British Highlanders can fight even though it never happened in that area.

To add and image, there is a like below (beside the paper clip) which allows you to load a pic from your computer to the board. Or, by clicking on the icon above, you can all an image from some website on the internet.

Lynne is great. I miss seeing her.
