Hey everyone,

Since December of 2003, Alamo Sentry has grown from being a small messageboard on the Alamo to a large community of Alamo buffs and Historians. We now have 157 members and is growing in number gradually. So, if you'd like to talk about the Alamo and a have a good discussion check out Alamo Sentry.

Thanks,
~Wade

http://alamosentry.proboards24.com/index.cgi Alamo Sentry now has 209 members! We total the possible number of the Alamo garrison.

But beside that, we have become a great community of scholars, Alamo enthusiast, and great people. There are several great, thought provoking and civil discussions going on so if you enjoy the story of the Alamo, feel free to register and join on in. Yall are most welcome among our "humble company".

I have been interested in this battle for quite sometime. I've often wondered where the demarcation line should be drawn when dealing with fact and fiction regarding this battle. The current Hollywood production, staring Thorton, appeared to lean towards the factual aspects of the battle. Davy's character appeared to be very human and somewhat unsure of himself. I recall reading or hearing of some important papers written by one of the Mexican soldiers who actually fought there. I believe it was Pena, or something similar. I belive that he made an allegation that Crockett, and others, surrendered at the end of the battle and were, subsequently, murdered. Is there any truth to this. I'm looking forward to learning more. Thanks.
