I received a wonderful phone call from Lori Boutette, and she wanted to let me know that she received the check from Ariel's Auction and to thank everyone for their continued generosity. She said that they really appreciate what we do for them. It really helps out alot. I even got to talk to Ariel for just a minute. I couldn't quite make out what she said, but Lori told me that she said, "I love you Kay" You just have to love this little girl!!!  She tries things that some of us with sight won't even try, like petting a snake. Nope, you're not going to see this girl pet a snake!!! Ariel loves music and horseback riding. She is in third grade this year and is doing very well.
When Lori sends some pictures of Ariel, I will make sure to post them. We might even be able to meet Ariel. They had thought about coming to the 2006 Gathering, but they couldn't get a flight from Edmonton to Asheville. The closest that they could get was to Charlotte, and it arrived at 11:00 PM, and then it was a two hour drive from Charlotte, so they decided that maybe this just wasn't the year to attend the Gathering, but I will keep trying to convince them to make it to the 2008 Gathering. It would be so nice to meet Ariel and her mom and dad!!!
I will send some pictures of Ariel (some with the snake)  as soon as Lori sends them to me.

Kay,
Thanks for the Ariel update!!! I am glad they called you and you got to talk to Ariel!! Awwwwwwwwww ok I'm jealous. That is amazing that they considered coming to the Gathering. We will definitely have to work on them for 2008. Kay, thanks for all your hard work on Ariel's auction, you are really a special person.

WOW! It is so amazing to think we have known Ariel since she was a wee babe and is now in THIRD GRADE!!!

What an awesome priviledge it would be to meet Ariel!!!
