Yes, yes, to what you guys have mentioned so far. I must admit I get a charge out of the sounds of the battles, both on the large scale, and hand-to-hand.....love those tomahawk thwacks! those slicing knives, those zinging bullets!

Two incidents especially: the very obvious scalping on the George Road, and, as Magua and friends stalk the column leaving the fort, the colonials fire their first volley into the woods at attackers yet unseen, and we see a shot of an Indian who anticipates the bullet and turns aside, just as the very bullet ZINGS through the leaves next to him! Amazingly done.

I thought of another one...As the camera scans the carnage at Cameron's cabin, we seem to HEAR the flames that went before. Anybody catch this? It's especially prevalent as we see the little boy's leg and arm sticking out from under the charred ruins. I always find this a wonder.

AND...I just love the sounds of their breathing, as Hawkeye, Uncas and Chingachgook run through the forest. Love it.
