I too was wondering about "UNCLE". In fact for a while, I thought that Alexandra was saying Uncas and greeting Chinga.
But, I now think that she was saying uncle as a warm greeting, as one would say hi dad. Perhaps Uncle was an okay way to warmly greet a non-blood relative or Indian you felt affection for into your home,

any other ideas out there?
