Greetings fellow Mohicanites!

I write to let you know that I have become privy to a bit of information that may surpise, nay *shock* you!! Michael Mann has been holding out on us!! I have gotten hold of something pertaining to a scene which I assume went the way of many another intriguing scene - the cutting room floor!!

The scene was set - Hawkeye and Cora, sharing smouldering glances across the infirmary, while all around them, the wounded groaned in pain. Suddenly, Dougie MacLean's fiddle set toes tapping - and the dance began. Hawkeye and Cora drew towards one another, Hawkeye firmly grasped Cora's hand, they moved off and while 'The Kiss' played, they embraced and -- Ha! You think they indulged in a little bit of 'pash' -- well, you'd be wrong!! In actual fact, they went looking for the Loch Ness Monster!! I know what you're thinking! Kate's a breed apart and makes no sense! Oh yes I do!! And I have the proof!!

So, -- we have to ask ourselves, why was that scene not shown in the final version?! Remember the question 'where do we go from here to create 'LOTM- Part II'? Could this be Michael's surprise 'Part II', I ask myself?! Forget the "Hawkeye and Cora + 12 kids, oldest boy called Uncas" scenario. *I* think he's taking Hawkeye and Cora to Lake George to look for the Loch Ness Monster!!

I know it sounds far fetched but, as I said, I *have* the proof!! Is there a 'Loch Ness Monster' in Lake George? Well, *many* of the colonials were Scots peasants thrown off their land and put on ships bound for the New World, by the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland, during the Highland Clearances. So, perhaps, an antecedent of the present incumbent of Loch Ness also became disallusioned with life in the Highlands at that time and decided to strike out for a better life in the Carolina's! Who's to say? - However, it seems Michael Mann thinks it is possible!!

Therefore, release the Director's Cut Version of 'LAST OF THE MOHICANS'!! That's what I say! Let's get the *true* version of events at the fort!! I'm sure I speak on behalf of many Mohicanites!!

Yours in anticipation of seeing the *real* version,
Kate.
