Posted - November 18 2004 : 3:45:13 PM I selected "I don't care", since all of the 'cabinet resignations' stories making their rounds in the media, are a non-story. As long as I can remember, it is customary for the whole cabinet to tender their resignations at the end of a president's term. It is symbolic of resigning before the 'boss' leaves, even if he has just been re-elected. After said resignations are tendered, then the president decides who he is going to invite back for the next term.
How do you think that Madeline Albright got her turn in the SecState Seat? Or Gerorge Shultz? On average 20-40% of cabinet positions 'change hands' between the first and second term. The media is 'whistling through the graveyard', when trying to link what is SOP, to some kind of invented 'divisiveness'. In a nutshell, it is a non-issue...
