Poll Question:
All of the following cabinet members have announced they will not be part of George W.'s second term. Which of them were you the happiest to see leave? If you choose to have discussion, tell us why...

Choices:

Colin Powell
John Ashcroft
Don Evans (commerce secretary)
Rod Paige (Secretary of Education)
Anne Veneman (Agriculture Secretary)
Spencer Abraham (energy secretary)
I don't know anything about these people.
I don't care.
I don't have an opinion.
I'm glad to see anybody associated with Bush leave.
I'd like to see Bush leave.
Can Jesse Ventura have a cabinet slot now?
I liked all of them and hate to see any of them step down.

Uh oh. I forgot one. I forgot the answer "I liked all of them and hate to see any of them step down."
Anybody know how to edit the answers?

I selected "I don't care", since all of the 'cabinet resignations' stories making their rounds in the media, are a non-story. As long as I can remember, it is customary for the whole cabinet to tender their resignations at the end of a president's term. It is symbolic of resigning before the 'boss' leaves, even if he has just been re-elected. After said resignations are tendered, then the president decides who he is going to invite back for the next term.

How do you think that Madeline Albright got her turn in the SecState Seat? Or Gerorge Shultz? On average 20-40% of cabinet positions 'change hands' between the first and second term. The media is 'whistling through the graveyard', when trying to link what is SOP, to some kind of invented 'divisiveness'. In a nutshell, it is a non-issue...
