OK - I know, I know ... you've all seen this before. Yet, I get a chuckle every time I have a look. Hope y'all do, too! This is the kind of spontaneous moment & good fun that occurs at our Great Mohican Gatherings each & every year since 1998 [save for last year  ] ... But, the real reason I posted this again is because I noticed in my morning web stats report the other day a few searches for "bare butts," or something akin, that led to this web site. Not quite bare, but I reckon those 4 "asses" are rather famous world-wide!!! 
Anyway, about last year and the canceled [postponed] Mohican Gathering: A lot of factors involved there that caused that decision to be made - the greatest being my daughter's uncertain health - not the least of which was an unexpected lack of enthusiasm. After compiling the largest informational E-mail list ever prior to the sign-ups, it was quite disappointing to see the slow drip of people actually signing up for the event. There was the impending war & other factors that I am sure were dampening people's spirits. Things may have worked out in the end, but Sophia's ongoing life & death struggle made me have to pull out. There were no takers to carry on without, and so we canceled. Sophia made a remarkable recovery, and we soon decided to change it's status to postponed ...
And, so here we are again! NO! Get the thought out of your heads - not implying any cancellation thoughts - The show will go on. But, I do see some similarities to last year. Jeez Louise! It's only ONE DAMN WEEK into the sign-up period - which, as it is, started a month earlier than usual, right after the Holidays - and already I'm in a tizzy. I can hear some of you thinking that - or, worse! No, not really, I'm not panicking ... yet. Actually, I have nothing else to talk about and don't want to sound like a broken record about working on the new book and this & that, so I'm talking about this!  Aren't you glad!?
Guess I'm spoiled from 2001. Never will I forget. We opened the gates on Feb. 1, or whatever date it was, and the sign-ups just flooded in. We probably had 50 people in the first day or two sign up. As we all know, that turned out to be the largest - and possibly best - Gathering ever. Over 100 people participated. So, you see, just 22 in 8 days is a pale comparison to that. Of course, there are quite a few who I know are coming who just haven't officially filled out the form, but my little mind can't seem to avoid wondering. I am a worrier ...
Now, all that said, little is very good. Two of my personal favorite Gatherings were the two smallest: #1 & #5. They were more personal & intimate. No big stars; no stress. BUT, we need this Gathering to be big, we really do, because of the GRAND nature of it's plan. 2004 GATHERING SIGN-UP PORTAL Go ahead! CLICK ON IT! Take the plunge and ease my mind. OK? We do already have some payments in hand, so that is a good thing!
About this Board - if you move your mouse over the Snitz logo way down at the bottom [right], you'll notice it says "version 3.4.04." It used to say, "3.4.03." Truth is, it's somewhere in-between. I upgraded the database tables, applied all the fixes I could, and added some new administrative functions ... but, even though there is a new release of the software, I just wasn't ready to re-do all the modifications I have made [as I did last time] ... losing, and then adding back in the polls, events, avatars, private messages,
