OK, a bit late, I know, but a few things to briefly mention:
Those of you on the Gathering mailing list have already been notified, but for the rest of you, the 5-MONTH Gathering Update & Checklist has been posted!
A fix: Those potential posters behind certain firewalls and/or users of Norton Internet Security, have had a difficult time of it when trying to post, or could not even register at all. That problem should be alleviated now. Since I'm not a user of that software, nor behind a firewall, I cannot test it for sure, but I believe it is fixed.
An addition: Near your Avatar, if you have one, and country etc. - when you post - you'll see a "Bumppo's patron since" addition. That, of course, goes back only since the new board was established back on May 17, 2002 [hence the at least]. Many of you date back well before then. I am the only one that has an earlier date - May 13 - Thats because I sat there for 4 days trying to figure the system out before I actually closed the old board & opened this one. 
FAQs: In the near future there will be FAQs for you Moderators out there. They'll be in with the regular posting FAQs, but will be visible only to Moderators, for your convenience.
Mohican Board Members: Have mentioned this before, but in case you are left with nothing else to wonder about, and find yourself wondering why the number of Mohican Board Members increases so slowly, or even decreases at times, here's the answer: Members who have never posted AND have not logged in for 6 consecutive months are deleted [after a "warning" message is sent]. If you ever find yourself in that scenario, and you want to be a Member, simply re-register! There are a couple of exceptions I've made to a few folks who registered but have never posted who date back to the old days & I just don't have the heart to "delete" them!
