This may have been brought up before, but who is the person that jumps from the canoe into the lake during the canoe chase scene?

I didn't see anyone jump out of the canoe, I only saw Uncas get in the canoe with, suddenly, wet hear. How thoughtfull it is of him to join the other canoe, so it would go as fast as the canoe where his friends are in... sigh...

During one my many viewings of the movie, I noticed that Uncas was first in one canoe and then in another. At first I thought this was another blunder, so I rewound the movie and watched more closely whereby I noticed that Uncas slips out of one canoe and then climbs aboard the other to assist, even though it was Hayward's canoe. Wasn't that the heroic thing for him to do? Afterall, they were all trying to escape the same enemy.

What you give of yourself is priceless.
