: I'm curious to know more about Montcalm's letters to his wife. Were they published -- is there a reference you can point me to?

: Thanks,

Sarah,

Montcalm's letters, as well as his unpublished autobiography "Memoires Pour Servir a l'Histoire de ma Vie" are in the possession of his descendants. Many excerpts are in print and can be found in various F & I War books including Francis Parkman's "Montcalm and Wolf." There is today still a Marquis de Montcalm. He honored the "French Troops" at Fort Ticonderoga with his presence in '96 or '97.

You have much reading to do; between Montcalm's lettres and Cooper's many works! :)

Elaine
