Congrats are in order since he won best actor for his part in "There Will Be Blood" at the SAG awards last night which I watched. I must say he certainly does not look 50. He would pass for someone of 35. Looked amazing and I loved how he spoke so fondly of Heath Ledger and dedicated his win to him. Wonderful man for doing that and a hell of a great actor.

I believe that Daniel has won every award for which he has been nominated this year, for his role in TWBB - and they are numerous! I am thrilled to see him getting the recognition he so richly deserves, as he is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable actors EVER to step in front of a camera.
It's also great to have an opportunity to watch him & listen to his acceptance speeches at these various events; he is humble as he accepts his awards & always acknowledges all of the other actors nominated. He is also eloquent beyond words - he could talk for days & days & I would never tire of listening to that wonderful voice!
If I could actually find this man & meet him face to face, I'd offer to buy him a pint at the local pub; but since that's not likely to happen, I'll just raise a congratulatory toast to Daniel right here!

A wonderful actor indeed. Although he very seldom grants interviews, he was on Oprah last week, via sattelite, and that melodious voice of his and his humbleness is quite refreshing. She did a great job with the interview, unlike Katie Couric did a few years back when he was up for best actor for Gangs of New York. Congrats to Daniel for his award and I'm sure there will be more to come. |

| I'm curious as to Daniel's connection to Heath. Was there one? Did they appear in a movie together? Or was this emotion simply one actor paying tribute to another? |

| Daniel said he had never met Heath but was touched by his great acting in such movies as "Brokeback Mountain", "The Patriot" and other films. He said he was such a talented young man and was very shaken by his death at such a young age (28). He also said he had not been able to think of much else lately other than this terrible tragedy. He did look visibly upset. |

I must say he is looking rather attractive since his LOTM days. He is like a fine wine, gets better with age. Ummm! |

Yes, he DOES seem to get better with age. Anybody seen his pictures in this month's edition of "Men's Vogue????" Until I saw those I thought three weeks in Cleveland had completely frozen my womanly little heart. As usual, a good dose of DDL was all it took to bring springtime back! |

| I just realized: I don't think I've ever heard DDL's real speaking voice until I watched the acceptance speech that GG posted. He imitates some sort of accent in every movie I've seen him in. Seems very soft-spoken in reality. And he was wearing very sparkly earrings. |

Good old youtube! You can find just about anything there! Thanks, GG.
Anytime I see Daniel being interviewed or speaking, such as at the awards, I am more and more impressed with the man. He is, I believe, an amazingly sincere, humble, and self-effacing person. It is so typical of him to shift the attention from himself to someone else who he thinks is more deserving. This... is a true man. |
