Dear Bill...anyone TRULY in love with Daniel Day-Lewis (DON'T FORGET THE HYPHEN, DADGUM IT!)such as *I* am, already OWNS Age of Innocence, such as *I* do, and has it sitting right next to the VCR, ready-set to play on a moment's notice, such as *I* have! But for those who aren't already in love with him, watching this on tv might help...though if you only know his Hawkeye persona, it may be quite a shock. His Newland Archer is terribly elegant and extremely repressed, and suffers so eloquently...not at all like Nathaniel, his loin-clothed alter ego. Let me know how you like it...though I have to tell you MY husband has dubbed it the "Mother of All Chick Flicks!" Be forewarned that only a man of great sensitivity and genuine passion will appreciate this film as much as we gals do! (Be that you?)
